My name is Jon Menefee and I've been a creative video professional for over 10 years.
I grew up in the small town of La Puente, CA and moved all over Los Angeles as a kid, living in a whole range of areas from Century City to Pomona. I graduated high school in 2002 and went straight to college in Santa Monica at the Art Institute of Los Angeles, where I did a 2 year video production program. In early 2004 I started editing professionally and by the time I graduated, near the end of 2004, I had gotten hired as a freelance editor at Vivendi Universal working on video game trailers and tv spots.
This was only the beginning of my career and I was lucky enough to work in TV, film and commercial production over the next few years. Through all the things I worked on, I always had a passion for video games and wanted to return to working on them full-time. In 2007, I found a home at an video game centric ad agency in Pasadena, CA, Ayzenberg Group, where I was Sr. Editor/Creative Lead for 6 years. This allowed me to edit amazing pieces, work with incredible people, learn from talented directors, and to take a leading creative role in many trailers, tv spots and viral campaigns.
In January of 2013, I became Creative Director of gaming at Buddha Jones, an a/v agency in Hollywood. After spending a year there and learning from/collaborating with some very talented minds, I got an opportunity to take the next step.
In January of 2014, I became Head of Games at Open Road Entertainment, a leading trailer agency in Burbank, CA.
I married my beautiful wife Nicole on October 10, 2010 and we had our first child, Rónan Bruce Menefee, on June 12, 2012. We currently reside in Glendale, CA where we enjoy bbqing, karate, playing lots of video games and spending time with our friends and family.
